Portable Weigh Beams
The Griffith Elder Portable Weigh Beams are a new development in portable weighbridges. They provide a lightweight alternative to using a full size portable weighbridge, without any compromise in accuracy of weights. Any vehicle may be weighed regardless of its length or number or axles. The TonTel™ Split-Weigh system ensures that maximum accuracy is guaranteed at all times.

The Portable Weigh Beams are factory calibrated so no special on-site setting up is needed. Simply drop them into position between two ramps, plug in and weigh. Small vehicles are weighed in one go; bigger trucks, tractors and trailers, and articulated lorries are weighed in two parts.
- Portable
The weight sensors in each Weigh Beam are designed to be robust and durable, particularly when being constantly moved. The entire system runs from 12 volts dc and can be run from a normal car or lorry battery or the re-chargeable internal battery. No mains power is needed giving maximum flexibility for using the weighbridge in remote locations.
- Automatic weighing
Weighing a vehicle is a quick, automatic, driver-only operation. The driver moves the first set of axles onto the platform. If a trailer is attached, it is weighed approximately 3 seconds later. In less than 20 seconds the two weights are added together, put into memory and a ticket is automatically printed.
- Recording options
A large external LED display is available for quick and easy viewing of the weights. A traffic light can be used with the large display to tell the driver when to move on and off the weighbridge. The weighbridge can be used with a Griffith Elder indicator or direct to a PC.The indicator and printer come in a waterproof carry case for ease of moving between locations. For use with a PC the full range of Ton-Tel™ software is available.
